Foo Fighters’ ‘Medicine at Midnight’ debuts at number one on UK album chart

Foo Fighters are number one across the pond.

The band’s new album, Medicine at Midnight, has debut atop the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. Dave Grohl and company now have five number-one records in the U.K.

“I would like to thank everyone for honoring us with this Number 1 record,” Grohl tells OfficialCharts.com. “After 25 years of being a band it still kind of blows our minds that this could actually happen and we’re very grateful and very thankful.”

“We can’t wait to get back there to see you guys, sooner than later, I hope!” Grohl adds. “We’re ready — every day we’re one step closer. Thank you very much, it’s an honor to have this Number 1 record. See you soon!”

In the U.S., Foo Fighters have hit number one on the Billboard 200 twice, with 2011’s Wasting Light and 2017’s Concrete and Gold. Medicine at Midnight’s debut position will be revealed when the Billboard 200 updates Sunday.

Medicine at Midnight is the 10th Foo Fighters album. It includes the singles “Shame Shame” and “Waiting on a War.”
