Lauryn Hill’s ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ goes Diamond, 20 years after release

20 years after its release, Lauryn Hill‘s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill has reached Diamond status.

The momentous accomplishment was confirmed on Tuesday by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), who tweeted out a congratulatory message to the legendary singer in honor of selling more than 10 million units of the album since its 1998 release.

The accolade puts Hill among an exclusive lists of artists who have also had their records go Diamond, including Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Adele’s 21, Britney Spears’ …Baby One More Time, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, and 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was Hill’s debut solo album and housed timeless singles including “Doo Wop (That Thing)”, “Ex-Factor”, and “Everything Is Everything.”

The 16-track album also featured collaborations with other iconic artists like Mary J. BligeD’Angelo, and Carlos Santana.
