This holiday season, Niecy Nash is looking to create new traditions with her wife Jessica Betts, whom she married this past summer.
Nash tells Good Morning America she’s been using this downtime during the global pandemic to learn about herself as a person and pick up a few new skills.
“What I learned about myself is that I can do anything. Yeah, I said it,” the actress joked. “I thought that my mother was the only crafter in the family … [but] I found out I can craft as well.”
In learning about herself, Nash realized she was “a chef in the making” and “an amazing encourager” who “really hate[s] working out.”
In terms of crafting, Nash has used her creative skills to create a custom Christmas card with Betts using HP Printables, a free and fun resource to help get folks through what she is calling “Staycation 2020.”
As a spokesperson for their campaign, Nash wants to encourage families all over the world to “create their own holiday magic” with festive Christmas cards just like hers.
Nash says the couple is looking forward to creating new traditions together and spending Christmas Day with her three adult children from her first marriage.
“What I think we’re planning is something very special for the two of us [on] Christmas Eve and then we will spend the actual day with the children,” says Nash.
